STRIKE SERVICES OF THE HONGKONG CHINESE.
VALUABLE WORK BEING DONE IN MANY DEPARTMENTS.
Though the number of Chinese who have boldly come forward on the side of peace and order and are taking their part in the carrying out of the emergency measures for the benefit of the whole community is not commensurate with the large Chinese population, it is by no means negligible, and their wholehearted and enthusiastic response to the call of duty is most gratifying. The following is a brief summary of the work they have already done or are doing:-
HONGKONG VOLUNTEER CORPS AND BOY SCOUTS.
Chinese have joined the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps, and Chinese Boy Scouts are maintaining the prestige of their organisation by performing much useful work for the public good.
