ROUND THE COURTS.

BOY SCOUT CONGRATULATED.

A Boy Scout of the 24th Troop Hong Kong, was congratulated by Mr. Whyte Smith for catching a thief. The latter stole some clothing from a house in Reclamation Street and ran away. The Scout told the Magistrate that he had been instructed by his Scout master always to help in emergencies, and, seeing the thief running away, he gave chase and caught him. The Magistrate remarked that he was very glad that he was carrying out his Scout Masters' orders so well, and that he had done very useful work in catching a thief.
The thief was sentenced to a month's imprisonment.
