HONGKONG BOY SCOUTS
INVITATION TO VISIT AUSTRALIA

   Presiding over the annual meeting of the Hongkong branch of the Boy Scouts Association, held Iast evening at Sandilands Hut. His Excellency the Governor, who is Chief Scout, praised the work of the Association, and made a strong appeal for funds to clear the $6,000 Bank overdraft incurred in connection with the Saiwan Camp.
   Mention was made of the retirement from the office of President, the Hon. Mr. R.H.Kotewall; the departure later in the year of the Commissioner, Rev. G.T.Waldegrave; and of an invitation from Australia to local Scouts in connection with the visit there this year of the Chief Scout, Lord Baden Powell.
   The Hon. Mr. R.H.Kotewall, on the occasion of his resignation from the office of President, was presented with a memento of his connection with the Association.
   On arrival, His Excellency the Chief Scout was received by the President, Commissioner and other members; and performed the ceremony of presenting the Prince of Wales Banner to the No. 10 (St. Paul's College) Hongkong Troop, the winner in Iast year's competitions.
   At the meeting which followed, His Excellency was supported by Lady Southorn, the Commissioner of Girl Guides, the Commissioner (Rev. Mr. G.T.Waldegrave), the Hon. Mr. R.H.Kotewall (President of the Association), Hon. Mr. T.N.Chau (Hon. Treasurer), and others.
