The Hague, July 31.

A total of 28,000 boy scouts, including 8,000 from Britain and the British Empire, attended the opening of the Scouts' Jamboree here which was also witnessed by thousands of spectators.
The Jamboree was opened by the Queen of the Netherlands while the Chief Scout, Lord Baden Powell and the Chief Scout of Holland were on the platform with the Queen.
After the opening ceremony, the 28,000 scouts marched passed the Queen, this lasting two hours. After this part of the ceremony was over the scouts made a spectacular dash towards the platform where they heard the Queen make a speech in Dutch, French and English.
Lady Baden Powell and members of the diplomatic corps also attended the ceremony. - Reuter
