CHIEF SCOUT HAS QUIET WELCOME AT SOUTHAMPTON
Lord Baden Powell, the chief Scout, had one of the quietest returns to this country he has had for many years when he landed at Southampton recently from the Llangibby Castle on his return from Africa.
It was at his own request.
He had been ill on board but was able to walk off the ship.
Only his daughter, Miss Heather Baden Powell, and the secretary of the Boy Scouts Association were allowed to see him.
Lord Baden Powell waited until most of the passengers had disembarked before he left the ship. A group of Scouts saluted him as he passed through the entrance to the quay.
