SCOUTERS' CAMP
Governor Visits Chai Wan Site
His Excellency the Acting Governor, Lieut. General E.F.Norton, acting Chief Scout of Hongkong, spent an informal afternoon at the Scouters' Camp at Chai Wan yesterday, when he interested himself in the activities of the Camp and was entertained to tea.
His Excellency, accompanied by Capt. S.H.Batty Smith, A.D.C., arrived by launch, and they were rowed ashore by the Sea Scouts. The Rev. N.V.Halward, Colony Commissioner, welcomed His Excellency and presented the officers, including Major C.Champkin, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. C.C.Quah and Mr. F.H.Chan, District Commissioners, Mrs. F.E.E.Booker, Assistant Commissioner for Wolf Cubs, and District Scoutmasters David Lee, W.C.Low and Brother F.Grimshaw.
Other visitors to the Camp were the Rt. Rev. H.Valtorta, the Rt. Rev. Ronald Hall, the Hon. Mr. M.K.Lo, the Hon. Mr. W.N.Thomas Tam, Col. H.B.Holt, Col. H.B.L.Dowbiggin, Wing Commander A.H.S.Steele Porkins, Lt. Col. H.L.Murrow, Mr. C.G.Sollis, Mr. G.A.Goodban, Mr. G.A.Pentreath, Mr. A.J.Lane and Mr. G.S.P.Heywood.
