WORLDWIDE EXTENSION OF THE MOVEMENT
The Duke of Connaught will open the Boy Scouts' World Jamboree at Birkenhead on July 31, when 30,000 Scouts from 42 countries will assemble to celebrate the coming of age of the Boy Scout movement.
The Chief Scout formed his first camp on Brownsea Island, Poole, with 21 boys taken from all grades, including Eton, Harrow, and the East End of London.
In the British Empire recently there were over 654,000 Scouts, while the number of International Scouts almost reached 2,000,000.
