Scouts, Guides commemorate anniversary
The Colony's Boy Scouts and Girl Guides commemorated the 40th anniversary of their movement at special parade services held at Protestant as well as Roman Catholic Churches yesterday.
The largest gatherings were those at St. John's Cathedral, St. Joseph's Church, St. Andrew's Church and St. Theresa's Church. Brownies attending the services were accompanied by their parents and their respective Packs.
Special prayers were offered by the ministers for the extension of the movement's ideal for youth throughout the world. Yesterday held a special significance for Guides of the Catholic Faith as it was the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel who is the Patron Saint of all Girl Guides.
