H.E. Inspects Scouts
"Good scouts must be efficient and filled with the spirit of scouting". His Excellency, the Governor, Sir Alexander Grantham, said at the inspection of the 11th Kowloon Group Boy Scouts this morning, at Government House.
"Filled with the spirit of scouting is to be thoughtful of others, to want to help others, to do unto others as you would want them to do unto you, and efficiency to be able to be of service."
His Excellency congratulated the Group on being the first in the history of the Colony to be the winners of both the Prince of Wales Banner, and the Carlton Trophy.
Sir Alexander, accompanied by his ADC, Mr B.F.Slevin, was met by Mr D.W.Luke, County Commissioner, Mr J.A.Hudson, Organising Commissioner, and Mr J.A.Ozorio, District Commissioner. His Excellency inspected over 100 scouts. After the inspection, Mr Choy Sing-pang, Group Scout Master of the 11th Kowloon Group, led the cheers for the Governor.
