His Majesty the King received forty thousand Boy Scouts at Windsor Castle.

The gathering was a notable one.

Amongst those present were Lieut.-General Sir R. Baden-Powell, Lord Charles Beresford, and Lieut.-General Sir Herbert Plumer.
