[English] SIAMESE BOY SCOUT HERO.

8 January 1914

SIAMESE BOY SCOUT HERO.

On the suggestion of H. E. Phya Boriraks Phuthorn, President of the Committee of the Boy Scouts Brigade in Siam, H.R.H. Prince Damrong has signified his willingness to recommend that Nai Fai, a 14 year-old boy scout of the Model School of Mondhol Jumbara, should receive some recognition of the gallantry he displayed in connection with the "Bangbert" disaster in May last.

Nai Fai, who happened to be proceeding to Bangkok from Bandon at the time the "Bangbert" turned turtle on the bar, was instrumental in saving the lives of two persons, one of them being a tiny girl, who were in danger of losing their lives on that occasion.

This is not the first time that the good work of boy scouts in Siam has been of material assistance in various directions, and we are assured that this outstanding instance of gallant behaviour on the part of the youthful Nai Fai will not pass unnoticed or unrewarded - Siam Observer.
