[English] Our London Letter. THE BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT.

Our London Letter.
THE BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
LONDON, September 25th.
It is really remarkable to observe how the Boy Scout movement continues to grow and flourish throughout the world. According to Lord Hampton, the Chief Commissioner of the Boy Scouts' Association, the movement has increased in the last two years by 300,000. Practically every country now has its Scouts' Association. In Japan, for instance, there are over 60,000 Boy Scouts; and in this connection I note that a distinguished Japanese naval officer has just left England for New York en route for home.
This is Rear-Admiral Count Tsuneha Sano, of the Imperial Japanese Naval Reserve. He came to Europe to attend the Fourth International Scout Conference in Switzerland, and has also been paying visits in this country.
It must be encouraging to all who are actively identified with the Boy Scouts to realise that, apart from the good work which is being done among the rising generation in their own area wherever it may be, they are also an association with a movement which has an international importance of great and far-reaching value.
