THE BOY SCOUTS.

GREAT INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP.

London, Jan. 28.

Warm congratulations were received from the King and Prince of Wales upon the development of the Boy Scout movement membership (which increased by 61,000 in the British Empire last year) at the annual meeting of the Association yesterday.

This enrolment of millions of the youth of the world is described by His Majesty as a triumphant advance towards the promotion of international brotherhood.

The Chief Scout, General Baden Powell, reported that there were now 582,000 Boy Scouts in the British Empire, while 1,712,000 boys were being trained in 42 countries registered with the International Bureau, in the ideals and methods of the Scouts movement.- British Wireless.
