6 January 1934

LORD BADEN POWELL

Veteran Scout In Hospital

London, Jan. 4.

Lord Baden Powell, the Chief Scout, underwent an internal operation in King Edward VII's Hospital for Officers yesterday.

The operation was successful and the patient is going on very satisfactorily.

He will remain in hospital for about six weeks and all his engagements for the next two months have, therefore, been cancelled.

He is, however, looking forward to a Mediterranean cruise at Easter, when he will visit the Scouts and Guides of Gibraltar, France, Malta, Algiers and Portugal, and to a world tour which he hopes to start in June. Lord Baden Powell is 77. - British Wireless Service.
