KING'S MESSAGE TO LADY BADEN-POWELL


His Majesty the King has sent the following message of condolence to Lady Baden-Powell, states a London message.

"The Queen and I are deeply grieved by the news of Lord Baden-Powell's death. As founder and the leader of the great movement, which has been of incalculable value, the Chief Scout will always be remembered with affection and gratitude. To you and your family and to all who are associated with that movement, we send our sincere sympathies in their loss."

Lord Baden-Powell was buried yesterday at 2.30 p.m. at Nyeri, Kenya, with full military honours.


HONGKONG MESSAGE

The following telegram of sympathy was sent from H.E. the Acting Governor to Lady Baden-Powell, at Nyeri, Kenya:-

As Acting Chief Scout of the Colony I send you on my own behalf and on behalf of the Boy Scouts of Hongkong my sincere condolences on the great loss which you and the world alike have suffered.
