CHINESE BOY SCOUTS.
In addition to the two troops of Chinese Boy Scouts already established in Shanghai, a third troop, consisting at present of twenty-four scouts, divided into three patrols, has been formed in connection with the Preparatory Department of St. John's University. A commission as assistant-scoutmaster has been issued by the Council to Mr. J. Randall Norton, B.A., one of the professors of the University. The Secretary of the Association has received a letter from the Scoutmaster of a troop which has been formed among the scholars of the Kuang-tung Academy, Canton. A request to be affiliated with the Association is one of the principal points in the letter, and a prompt reply offering affiliation has been sent. It is the object of the Association to encourage the establishment of troops in all parts of the country.
