BOY SCOUTS.
THE KOWLOON RALLY.
PROMISE FOR THE FUTURE.
There was a good response at the boy scouts rally held at St. Andrew's Church Hall, Kowloon, yesterday evening, and the number of boys who attended between the hours of 6 and 7 p.m., to give in their names reached double figures.
Capt. Bourdillon who was present to receive applications was enthusiastic about the result of the rally, and expressed the opinion that when the organisation had got into proper working order, there would be no doubt that the Kowloon troops would be one that the mainland might well feel proud of. He is confident that the Kowloon troop could easily be brought to 40 strong, with which number a good start could be made.
Capt. Bourdillon holds the rank of Assistant Scoutmaster in the newly formed troop, while the boys will have for their Scoutmaster Capt. Fogg, whose extensive experience will be very useful to the boys. It is intended to have the troop properly formed and equipped in time to start training in the winter season.
Rallies in other parts of the Colony will be held soon. It is intended that every school should have its own troop. With H. E. the Governor as Chief Scout, the movement is sure to flourish.
